Indian Comedian Who Pushed the Jab Suffers Heart Attack at the Gym

Stand-up comedian Raju Srivastava suffered a heart attack while working out at a gym in Delhi on Wednesday.

The 58-year-old fell off a treadmill after experiencing chest pain and then passing out.

In June 2021, the comedian, who is also chairman of the Film Development Council in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, filmed a video urging people to wear masks and get themselves inoculated with a COVID shot. The campaign was called “My Jab, My Mask.”

UPDATE: Raju Srivastava ultimately passed away on September 21.

Many famous celebrities in India have recently suffered from sudden cardiac events. Singer KK died of a heart attack after his concert in May 2022, and TV heartthrob Sidharth Shukla suffered a massive cardiac arrest in September last year. Puneeth Rajkumar, Surekha Sikri, and Raj Kaushal are a few other popular personalities who have passed away due to heart-related medical events.
