CDC Revises Page on mRNA + Spike Protein, Removes “Do Not Last Long in the Body”

The Centers for Disease and Control apparently updated their page on mRNA vaccines on July 15, 2022.

The November 3, 2021, version had a subheading in bold font stating: “The mRNA and the spike protein don’t last long in the body.” Underneath were two bullet points:

Our cells break down mRNA and get rid of it within a few days after vaccination.
Scientists estimate that the spike protein, like other proteins our bodies create, may stay in the body up to a few weeks.

There remains under “More Information” on that page a link to the controversial NebraskaMed article that was published last year, on July 2, 2021. That NebrakaMed article cited as its source for the claim “the spike proteins that were generated by COVID-19 vaccines last up to a few weeks, like other proteins made by the body” another website (idsociety), which itself has since removed its section on “Mechanisms of COVID-19 Vaccines” which made the claim seen below.
