Four Canadian Doctors in Toronto Area Died Last Week
Three of the doctors are from the same hospital system — Trillium Health, which serves Mississauga and western Toronto in the Canadian province of Ontario.
The deceased are:
- Dr Paul D. Hannam, died July 16
- Dr. Lorne E. Segall, died July 17
- Dr. Stephen W. McKenzie, died July 18
- Dr. Jakub T. Sawicki, died on or July 19
The last three listed are from Trillium, while Doctor Hannam worked as an emergency medicine physician at North York General Hospital in Toronto.
The province of Ontario started recommending the 2nd booster shots on July 13 and made them available on July 14.

Doctor Hannam is confirmed to have died from a heart attack suffered while he was out running. The cause of death for the three other doctors have yet to be announced.

Doctor Segall’s death was reported as being the result of lung cancer. He was 49 years old at the time of his death.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years Trina Liew and their three children Jake (16), Jessica (14), and Robin (9).
Dr. Jakub Sawicki, Medical Director at Roncesvalles Chronic Pain Clinic
Dr. Jakub Sawicki finished medical school at Queen’s University, graduating with the Professor’s Prize in Community Health and Epidemiology. He completed residency at the University of Toronto and continued on as a clinical adjunct professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine while completing an expanded scope of practice in chronic pain management.
His interest in quality assurance led to an assessor position for the CPSO and subsequently an Ontario investigating coroner position in response to the growing opioid crisis. Dr. Sawicki is a published researcher, whose current interests include minimizing the burden of chronic pain and limiting opioid-related harm.

Doctor Sawicki’s wife Iris is setting up a scholarshp fund in honor of his life. She says her husband was diagnosed with cancer in August. “He had minimal symptoms, no risk factors and did not have cancer genetics in his family.” He leaves behind an 11-month-old son.

Doctor McKenzie had his assistant notify his patients about a month ago that he was closing his practice because he was seriously ill.

This is very sad. Condolences to the families, of course, for the loss of these doctors. The vaccines are catching up, hoping other docs, nurses and others receive the hint before their lives are done.
Since one of the doctors had lung cancer for over a year, how is this from the vaccine?
Condolences to the family. I only wish they were more informed, since the top virologists, immunologists, of the world….including the inventor of the MRNA and even Nobel Prize laureates in that field, warned us and even begged not to take the shot.

sad & disturbing. seems compelling circumstantial evidence of booster safety issues. hard to know though given the cancer diagnoses for two and month of serious illness for other. is there any evidence all these docs took the booster?
