Richard Frankel (Source of Brian Ross in ABC News Story?)

ABC News just announced Saturday afternoon that their correspondent Brian Ross will be suspended without pay for four weeks, in the wake of his corrected (*cough*) report from Friday about the timing of certain instructions from President Donald Trump to retired Lieutenant General Michael Flynn. Was Flynn told to contact Russia during the campaign when Trump was still a candidate or was it after his electoral victory when he was already President-elect? That was the crux of the matter at hand.

Ross had mentioned a source for his report. Who could it be?

The name being circulated right now is the name of former FBI agent Richard M. Frankel, who is also with ABC News.

Frankel retired from the Federal Bureau of Investigation in January 2016. At the time, he was special agent in charge (SAC) of the Newark Field Office.

A graduate of Ithaca College and Quinnipiac Law School, Frankel’s government service began as Assistant District Attorney for Suffolk County, New York.

This post will be updated once details are confirmed.
