Brett Favre became the latest retired athlete to declare his support for President Donald Trump, tweeting on Friday that the Republican nominee will have his vote.

The former NFL quarterback and three-time MVP voiced his backing days after ex-golfer Jack Nicklaus shared a lengthy endorsement.

Favre says his vote is based on freedom of speech and religion, the second amendment, police and military.

“My Vote is for what makes this country great, freedom of speech & religion, 2nd Amnd, hard working tax paying citizens, police & military,” Favre’s tweet began. “In this election, we have freedom of choice, which all should respect. For me & these principles, my Vote is for @RealDonaldTrump. #Vote”

Trump’s campaign and the president thanked Favre for his support on Twitter.

Fox News is also reporting that Favre is expected to join Trump at a Wisconsin rally Friday afternoon in Green Bay. Favre was quarterback of the Green Bay Packers for more than a decade.

Inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2016, Favre is a beloved football legend in Mississippi as well as Wisconsin, where he won three NFL MVPs with the Green Bay Packers.
