Bulgarian Fighter Suspended After Kissing Filipina-American Reporter

Earlier this week, a clip went viral of Bulgarian heavyweight boxer Kubrat Pulev planting a kiss on Filipina American reporter Jenny Sushe during an interview after his fight against Bogdan Dinu.

Working for the Vegas Sports Daily, Sushe was finishing up her interview with the boxing star when he suddenly grabbed her face and kissed her. Even though Sushe laughed it off in the moment, it was clear that she was shocked. Later it was revealed that he had squeezed her buttocks as well.

Pulev explained his actions on Twitter, saying that the two are friends and that they had cleared the air over it at a party later that night.

Yesterday, Sushe and her attorney Gloria Allred appeared in front of the media to address the situation and explain their plan of taking legal action against Pulev. They also expressed the intention of sending a letter to the California State Athletic Commmission (CSAC) calling for his suspension.

“I did not encourage or consent to Mr. Pulev grabbing my face, kissing me, or grabbing my backside,” Sushe explained. “I was there at the event covering the boxing match as a professional member of the press. Kissing a woman on her lips without her consent and grabbing her is not acceptable.”

TMZ Sports is now reporting that Pulev has been suspended indefinitely by the CSAC. A spokesperson for CSAC told the media outlet that Bulgarian fighter will NOT be licensed to fight in California until he appears before the Commission to explain the incident in person.

The next opportunity for Pulev to face the Commission will be in May. It is unclear if the he plans to attend.
