Biden Caught in Lie, Claims 6,000 U.S. Troops Died from Coronavirus

During a campaign stop in Michigan on Wednesday, former vice president Joe Biden was caught in a lie about the number of military members that died from COVID-19.

The Democratic presidential candidate was in Warren when he lied about thousands of U.S. military members dying from the novel coronavirus. Specifically, Biden claimed that the armed forces had seen 118,984 cases and 6,114 deaths.

In fact, only 7 members of the military have died from COVID-19.

The Biden campaign later tried to cover up the lie by issuing a statement that the former vice president had merely misspoken and was actually referring to the number of confirmed cases and deaths from COVID-19 in Michigan.

In June, Biden incorrectly said 120 million people in the country had died from the coronavirus. At the time the number was about 120,000.

The population of the United States is approximately 328 million people.
