Albania Hit By Strong Earthquake — Preliminary Magnitude 6.4
A powerful earthquake hit the country of Albania at 3:54 am local time, causing several buildings to collapse.
The magnitude-6.4 tremor was felt across hundreds of miles of eastern Europe. In the Albanian capital Tirana, witnesses said locals ran into the streets in panic. The epicenter is reportedly in the town of Shijak in Durrës County, west-central Albania.
Reports of widespread casualties are already being reported on social media, with video clips being uploaded to Twitter.
